If you are looking for an opportunity to learn skills that will enhance your mental activity, performance on the job or in sports, or to improve your personal relationships, wellness groups are a great place to begin.  Participants in these groups build healthy habits and learn skills that ripple out into their lives in a multitude of ways.

Mindful Self-Compassion Group

Kristen Neff and Christopher Germer (2013), pioneer psychologists in the study of Self-compassion define it as follows:  Self-compassion comprises three interacting components: self-kindness versus self-judgment, a sense of common humanity versus isolation, and mindfulness versus over-identification when confronting painful self-relevant thoughts and emotions.  Participants learn about the science of self-compassion and specific formal and informal practices proven to increase self-compassion.

Move Mindfully Group

Daniel J. Siegel, founder of the field of Interpersonal Neurobiology, writes in his 2010 book, Mindsight, the New Science of Personal Transformation, says; "Inviting our thoughts and feelings into awareness allows us to learn from them rather than be driven by them.”  Participants into this group learn specific mindfulness practices scientifically supported by Dr. Siegel's and his colleagues research in conjunction with very simple and slow movement.
